காந்தி

அக்டோபர் 2, ஜனவரி 30 ஆகிய நாட்களில் மற்றும் காந்தியை குறித்து ஊடகங்கள் நமக்கு
நினைவூட்டுகின்றன. காந்தி, காந்தியம் குறித்து நூல்கள்,கட்டுரைகள் தொடர்ந்து வெளியாகிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. இவற்றை தொடர்ந்து கவனித்து வருவது, அதில் தீவிர அக்கறைக் கொண்டவர்களுக்கே சாத்தியம். இருப்பினும் இணையம் மூலம் ஒரளவாவது தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடிகிறது.Gandhi Marg இதழில் கட்டுரைகள் வெளியாகின்றன.ஆனால் நான் படித்த அளவில் அதில் வெளியாகும் கட்டுரைகளில் பெரும்பான்மையானவை சாதாரணமானவை.

ஜர்னல்களில் வெளியாகும் பெரும்பாலான கட்டுரைகளை இலவசமாக தரவிறக்கிக் கொள்ள முடியாது. பல பல்கலைக்ழகங்களில் இப்போது ஆய்வேடுகளை தரவிறக்கிக்கொள்ள வசதி செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். இதன் மூலம் காந்தி/காந்தியம் குறித்து எத்தகைய ஆய்வுகள் செய்யப்படுகின்றன என்பதை ஒரளவேனும் அறிய முடிகிறது.

கடந்த சில ஆண்டுகளில் காந்தி, காந்தியம் குறிதது வெளியான பல நூல்களை குறித்து திரிதிப் ஷ்ருட் ஒரு கட்டுரை எழுதியிருக்கிறார். காந்தியின் இன்றைய பொருத்தப்பாடு குறித்த கேள்விகளுக்கும் விடையளிக்கும் முயற்சியாக இதைக் காணலாம். அவர் எழுதுகிறார்
The real challenge for us is to re-imagine constructive programmes for our times, just as we re-imagine a personal Gandhi.

This would require that we give less primacy to the political realm, to free many categories like pain, suffering, loss, justice, forgiveness and even truth from the tyranny of the political. This might possibly allow us to think about our present equally through non-political metaphors. It might also unburden the political realm, if not free it from the desire to provide all answers. This could be our Lokniti.
